Lofer has aligned itself as a family friendly ski resort. They offer very reasonable packages for family lift passes and there are 2 ski school locations - one in the village and the other at the bottom of the main ski area. This allows very young children to learn in a sheltered area, allowing non-skiing parents or carers easy access with minimum hassle. When children are old enough to be left at ski school parents can relax in the knowledge that they are never more than 5-10 minutes from the school should there be a problem. There are play areas at both locations and plenty of family friendly restaurants.

Extensive investment in snow making facilities and a beneficial micro climate means that, despite it's low altitude, conditions are generally very favourable. The runs are mostly blues and reds so it is great for learners but there are a couple of lovely black runs to get the legs working while the kids are learning!
Lofer is truly a hidden gem.
